PureBikes Greed Review by Pan ( NTU Cycling)
Here's my review on the Greed-SL from Purebikes after about a month or so of riding. Having ridden a couple of bikes ranging from aluminum to scandium frames, I have to say none of them comes close to the Greed-SL. This is one very fast, responsive and super stiff bike. The pedaling efficiency of this bike is extremely well, it feels as if every bit of energy from my legs is efficiently transferred to the bike. This made accelerations and climbs much faster and easier as compared to my previous bikes. In addition, the Greed-SL feels very stable which gives me more confidence when taking corners at high speed as well as riding in rough and bumpy terrains. One thing that surprised me was despite being such a stiff frame, the Greed-SL is actually very comfortable. Road vibrations were minimal and riding over bumps and pot holes became less harsh as compared to my previous bikes. Weighting at under 900grams (for frame only) with internal cable routing and a full carbon fork, the Greed-SL is by far the most value for money frameset in the market given it's attractive price tag in my opinion. Overall, I am very satisfied with my Greed-SL and the only flaw I can think of about this bike would be the rider.
Setup of my Greed-SL:
Greed-SL 48cm frame
Aerozine XH808 Headset(TOP) stock bearings (Bottom)
SRAM Force Groupset
PRO vibe sprint drops
PRO vibe7s 100mm stem -10degree
Bontrager XXX racelite Seatpost
Purebike full carbon saddle
Fulcrum Racing 5 wheelset
Onza Preda Tires
Exustar PR200CKTi Pedals
Purebike Full Carbon Saddle
I have always been a fan of carbon saddles however their insane prices are a real turn off. Carbon saddles have always been deem as very hard and uncomfortable however it is not true, they are actually very comfortable. The full carbon saddle from Purebikes is my second carbon saddle, the first being Token full carbon saddle. Comparing with my Token saddle, the Purebikes saddle has a longer profile which I really like because I have more room to shift around saddle. In terms of performance, the purebikes is one of the best saddles I've tried. The saddle have the right amount of stiffness such that it does not sink under the rider's weight but still provide enough flex for rider comfort. And unlike the Token saddle which feels a bit flimsy, the Purebike saddle feels very tough (in fact bomb proof) and I can confidently remain seated while powering through bumps and rough terrains. At $100, the Purebikes saddle is light, strong and comfortable what more can I ask for?
